Will I still have to use makeup after I get my brows or lips done? Our Artists strive to give you the best results possible. However, depending on how your body heals and your desired look, it may be necessary to use makeup to achieve that result. Sometimes our bodies will reject the pigment, which can then effect the overall result, in addition the use of skincare, skin care treatments, skin type and lifestyle all play a role in the overall result. Remember Permanent Makeup is a LOW Maintenance treatment, NOT a NO maintenance one. :)
-
What is Microblading?Microblading is ideal for anyone wanting to enhance the look of their eyebrows. It is the most natural looking method of permanent makeup which mimics real hair. Microblading is best suited for those with Normal to Dry Skin and has sufficient hair to camouflage with Microblading. Microblading is performed using a hand held tool that deposits pigment into the skin one "hair" stroke at a time, giving an incredibly natural and realistic look.
-
Is Permanent Makeup painful? Our goal is to have clients as comfortable as possible. That being said, before the procedure takes place, we numb the area with a highly effective, topical anesthetic cream. To ensure continued comfort during the procedure we apply a gel anesthetic only when needed. Keep in mind, pain levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure you are comfortable for the entirety of the procedure. Most of our clients report little or no pain and have sometimes fallen asleep during the procedure.
-
How to prepare for your appointment?Prior to your procedure, clients are advised of the following: Avoid alcohol and aspirin/ibuprofen, green tea, vitamin E or any other Herbs (fish oil) 3 days prior to your procedure as these naturally thin your blood. Tylenol is fine. Do not drink coffee, alcohol or energizing drinks 24 hours before appointment. This will minimize bleeding or swelling during and after procedure Blood thinning medications must be discontinued, however this must only be done with the approval of your Physician only Any signs of infection, trauma or breakouts near and on the area to be treated please send me photos immediately and 48 hours prior to your appointment to ensure we may still be able to proceed on the treatment Avoid working out 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment If you regularly get your brows waxed, threaded or tinted, please be sure to do so at least 1 week prior to your appointment Do not tan or sub bathe 30 days before and after the procedure. Do not have chemical peels, microdermabrasion, mesotherapy or any other intense treatments which will cause faster skin cell rejuvenating and cause skin irritation 4 weeks before the procedure. Avoid using Retin-A or Retinols around the area to be treated 4 weeks prior to your appointment and 30 days after your procedure If you have previously been prescribed Accutane, you must be off the prescription for one year- NO EXCEPTIONS Avoid cosmetic procedures such as Botox no less than two weeks prior to your appointment or 3 weeks post. Fillers in or around lips must be done 3 months prior or post your Lip Blushing appointment Certain antibiotics can effect the retention and overall result of your permanent makeup, it is advisable to please reschedule your appointment accordingly.
-
Can I still donate blood?Yes
-
How will I look after my treatment? Will I be able to return to work? There is no downtime and you may return to work the same day. When you leave the studio, the treated area will begin to oxidize - meaning your body will begin to heal itself and will start to look darker or brighter in the hours following. The following day will be the most exaggerated days as the treated area may look bolder/darker for about 3 days. As your skin heals, the color will lighten.
-
Are Touch-Ups necessary or required?YES and YES. It is very important that you understand that all permanent makeup appointments require a follow up session 6 -8 weeks post initial session. Every client heals differently and it is impossible to accurately predict how your body will absorb pigment and heal. Therefore the required touch-up is done 8 weeks after the first appointment. During the touch-up appointment, our Artists will analyze how the skin received the pigment and will make any necessary corrections to color, shape and strokes. The touch-up session is often referred to as the Perfecting session because it is just that. Although rare, in some cases you may need an additional session to achieve desired results and will be charged accordingly.
-
How long does it take for Permanent Makeup to heal?It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 30 days for the color to fully set in. Your eyebrows will go through several phases during the healing cycle. The pigment will appear natural immediately after the procedure and will appear much darker the following day. During the skins regeneration, after peeling (about 7-12 days) brows may appear lighter than original state with a light opaque mask over the treated areas- During the healing process some clients will experience bald spots or lose original hair strokes in some areas that will make the brows look uneven- this is absolutely normal. The final look of your eyebrows will be apparent approximately 6 months after your procedure. Healed results vary depending on each client and in some cases a pencil or powder may be required to achieve desired results.
-
What is Soft Powder brows?Soft Powder brow techniques are another form of micropigmentation for the eyebrows. These techniques are often referred to as shading which result in a makeup look and are performed using a device. The shading densities and styles are tailored to your preference and skin type and condition.
-
Will I see the brow shape before you start the treatment? On the day of your appointment we discuss your brow/Lip goals, your beauty preferences and overall look you desire. Our Artists tailor and design Eyebrow shapes according to your natural brow shape, brow hair flow, facial features and overall face shape. We work together to get the perfect balance not symmetry. Symmetrical faces do not exist and therefore it's important to focus on Balance NOT symmetry. Our Artists do not begin implanting ink into the skin until you approve the shape, balance, and thickness. Once we agree on the shape and overall look, we will start the treatment.
-
Do I have to book a consultation before booking an appointment?Yes, if you are over the age of 55, or have previously been tattooed. We prefer an in-studio consult to analyze the integrity of your skin, to make the best choice for you. If you have previous work done by another artist, a clear photo must be submitted here to ensure your previous work is light enough to work over. You can text a picture along with your name to 949-424-2104. For new and virgin brows, a consultation is not necessary as a detailed consultation is part of your appointment.
-
Who is not a candidate for Permanent Make up?Those using Accutane, prone to keloids or post-inflammatory hypopigmentation, with transmittable blood disease such as HIV, or Hepatitis B or C, Patients undergoing chemotherapy, Pregnant or breast feeding, diabetic/ insulin dependent, Auto-immune Conditions (Doctor note is required), epilepsy, hemophilia or heart disease or using heart medications, have skin disease or conditions on or near your eyebrows- Such as Eczema, Shingles, or Psoriasis, Had Botox or fillers in the last 2 weeks, Allergic to lidocaine, prilocaine, benzocaine, tetracaine or epinephrine, under the age of 18 years old or Allergic to makeup or color, and /or On prescription strength medications or treatments that affect the dermal layer.
-
Can I get Permanent Makeup if I am Pregnant or Nursing? As a precaution, we do not perform any permanent make up services during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
-
How long does Microbalding, Shading and Lip Blushing last? There are a lot of factors to keep in mind when it comes to retention. Skin types (normal, oily, dry) , Skincare routines, medications, sun exposure, and certain lifestyles also affect the lasting effect of the pigment. Glycolic, and Retinoids are types of resurfacing regimens which cause faster fading. Each individual's color retention within the skin will vary. That being said, this is what we know to be the average retention times. Microblading, 10-14 months, Soft Powder shading techniques 16-20 months and Lip Blushing can last about 18 months. To maintain your permanent makeup, refreshers are highly suggested every 12-24 months.
-
Does permanent makeup effect my eyebrow hair growth? No. Its important to understand that the hair follicle starts the growth from a much lower layer of the skin. We implant pigment/ink into the layers above the hair follicle. If anything, these treatments actually stimulate hair growth!
-
How old do I have to be to get Permanent Makeup? You must be 18 years or older to have this service performed
-
What are some risk/ complications of Permanent Makeup? We take all proper precautions for a safe session by using new disposable only products, disposable and sterilized needles and sanitized environment Although allergic reactions to the pigments are rare, it is possible- we highly suggest a patch test for individuals who have high skin sensitivities or are sensitive to Topical makeup products. Patch tests should be performed 5-7 days prior to your appointment. Additional complications include, asymmetry - although we make every effort to avoid this, keep in mind our faces are not symmetrical so adjustments may be needed during the follow-up session to correct any unevenness. Pigmentation loss can result from poor healing, infection, bleeding and not adhering to my aftercare instructions can all effect more than normal retention. Although bruising or swelling is not common in some, excessive swelling or bruising can happen. In this case ice packs can help reduce swelling. Slight swelling calms within 3 days.
-
What if I don't like the result?Due to the nature of our business and chemistry of our bodies, there are no guarantees and no refunds. We highly recommend clients do their research, understand the procedure and compare different artists' work before making a decision to book. We strive to always do our best to shape and style the eyebrows to the clients satisfaction prior to the procedure and always get the approval prior to starting. We never proceed without the client's approval. Healed results vary depending on each client and in some cases a pencil or powder may still be required to achieve desired results. Additional appointments may be necessary to achieve desired results and will be charged accordingly. Prices are subject to change at any time.

What to Expect After your AppointmentWHILE YOUR SKIN HEALS, BE PREPARED FOR THE COLOR INTENSITY OF YOUR PROCEDURE TO BE SIGNIFICANTLY LARGER, SHARPER, BRIGHTER, OR DARKER. The color will oxidize and will appear darker and bolder 24-72 hours post procedure and over the next few days. This is a normal and expected result of the healing process. The healing process can take up to 14 days to complete depending on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates and new skin cells grow to take its place. Some residual swelling is normal, blanching (whiteness around the treatment area) and redness and/or soreness is to be expected and can last a few hours to a two days. The treated area will form very thin scabs, as they start to heal the scabs will flake off in random places and will appear uneven, dry and itchy. This is all 100% normal. DO NOT PICK the scabs! Picking can lift the color and pigment from the treated area resulting in unevenness and blank spots. Let the brows flake off naturally. These symptoms will dissipate each day and vary on an individual basis. During the exfoliation (flaking) process, the color may look weak, orangey (warm), grey (ashy) or faint- this will NOT be your final result. It takes a full 4 weeks for the true color to surface. Please be patient and wait until you are fully healed before you critique your eyebrows. Any refinements will be addressed at your follow-up appointment. Healing is specific to each client. It is important to know that you will need a color boost every 1-2 year to maintain its fresh natural appearance. Fading WILL happen after each procedure. Previously, tattooed eyebrows may take 1-3 treatments to achieve the desired result. We do not have control over your bodies healing process. When you leave the studio, your eyebrows are intact- your technician will do their best to help you heal properly but genetics, age, lifestyle, medication and certain environmental factors can and will contribute to the retention of the pigment. This is an enhancement to your natural brows and not a permanent one. The color CAN AND WILL fade/soften anywhere from 20-50%. Do not feel discouraged if fading is more than you expected. To achieve perfect brows, the 6- 8 week touch up is REQUIRED and will be made at initial appointment. If you love the outdoors and are a lover of the sun, have oily skin, use anti-aging creams, Retin-A/Retinol products, acidic cleansers, natural elements, regular chemical peels, or exercise frequently, your permanent makeup WILL fade prematurely. The better you take care of the treated area and follow the provided aftercare, the longer it will last. Remember that no two sides of the face are the same or perfectly symmetrical. While trying to obtain perfect symmetry is our goal, note nothing is perfect. Permanent Makeup is an art, NOT a science. All client results will vary. This does NOT replace makeup, in some cases you may still need to pencil in or powder your eyebrows even after healed results. This is not a “no maintenance” treatment but a “low maintenance” one. Your Perfecting Touch-up aka initial follow up appointment should be done within 6-8 weeks after your first treatment. Any additional touch ups within 3-12 months are an additional charge. I DO NOT DO FREE TOUCH UPS after your FOLLOW UP visit and will charge accordingly to your individual needs.

Brows Permanent Makeup AftercareDay One - ONE HOUR AFTER PROCEDURE: VERY IMPORTANT!!! Begin to blot the eyebrows every hour (first 4 hours) with provided sterile water wipes and dry tissue leading up to your first washing. This will help remove any excess lymph, blood and pigment that may appear after the procedure. Blotting is imperative! Do not skip this step. Unless instructed otherwise at your appointment. WASHING INSTRUCTIONS: (Start as instructed by your Artist) Day 1- 5 Begin washing your brows either the night of or the morning after your procedure. You will gently directly wash your brows morning and night for 5 days with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. . Using clean fingertips, Mix Cetaphil with lukewarm water, lightly smooth the brows in one direction only (don’t rub or scrub), splash rinse thoroughly, pat dry with a soft tissue or soft paper towel. Apply a THIN layer of the provided balm with clean fingers. Day 6 Stop direct washing but continue to apply balm 2x a day (ONCE a day if you are OILY) for the remaining 8 days to ease itchiness or dryness. Day 15 Return to your normal skincare routine BUT continue to avoid all chemical skincare products; Glycolic, Hydroquinone (Bleaching creams) Retinols, Retinoids and Vitamin C or E for 30 days and 30 days prior to your Perfecting Touch-up too! WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR PROCEEDURE After treatment it is normal to feel a sunburned sensation for a couple of days followed by dry, itchy or tender skin. 24-72 hours post your service, Brows will appear darker and bolder- This is normal and part of the healing process. The Skin Healing process takes approximately 6 weeks post your service. Color will flake off and the brows will appear softer and less visible and sometimes the pigment looks almost gone. This is normal as skin cells naturally exfoliate and regenerate. You will begin to notice the color changing, fading, disappearing and then reappear as they settle- closer to the 5-6 week mark. IMPORTANT: Keep in mind, we are implanting a foreign substance in your skin and the body will want to reject it, this will cause your overall retention to be less than 70% for some. This is why the Perfecting Touch up is so necessary and critical for the best lasting results. Stay patient, and Trust the process. :) WHAT TO AVOID FOR 14 DAYS: Never touch the procedure area without washing your hands first! Wash your pillowcase to lower the risk of infection. Increased sweating or exercise, strenuous activity must be avoided 10 days minimum AVOID washing your hair for the next 48-72 hours AVOID hot steamy showers, brow makeup, daily cleansing, soap, moisturizer, oil, creams or sunscreen on or around the treated area for 14 days. DO NOT submerge the treated area in water for the next 14 days unless instructed. Keep your face out of the direct shower stream. Prolonged exposure to water and steam is not allowed as this will get in the way of healing and retention. If you get the brows wet, pat dry gently with a paper towel only. AVOID swimming pools, sun bathing, tanning beds (no sun or tanning for 30 days), direct sun exposure, sauna, beauty treatments and contact with dirt and dust such as gardening or playing with animals for the next 14 days. DO NOT scrub, rub or pick at the scabs. Allow it to flake off by itself. If it is removed prematurely the pigment underneath it can be pulled out and potential scarring may happen. DO NOT use oils, Retinols, AHA’s, glycolic or other chemical exfoliating products on or around the treated area during the healing process and 30 days post. Avoid using these products two weeks prior to your follow up touch up as well. DURING AND POST HEALING Continue to minimize sun exposure. Lasers on treated areas can cause the ink to discolor. Exfoliating and skin lightening products (chemical peels, alpha and beta hydroxy acids, hydroquinone) promote ink loss, these products and treatments should be avoided on the treated area. Any form of topical Vitamin A should be avoided on the forehead altogether. Facial oils and natural skin oils on the forehead will result in blurred hair strokes over time, blotting throughout the day can lessen this. The use of Retinoids will result in color loss or change. Always use an SPF (after 2 weeks of healing) on your brows to prevent discoloration and fading. SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS THAT INDICATE THE NEED TO SEEK MEDICAL CARE: Excessive redness, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, or drainage from the procedure site. If an adverse reaction or infection develops at the site of your tattoo, contact your personal physician immediately and let us know too Call or text 949-424-2104

How to Prepare for your AppointmentTBD
-
Is it painful? Before the procedure, we apply a top-notch numbing cream to ensure you feel minimal to no pain.
-
When will I notice results? The kind of ink or coloring used, how old the tattoo is, its size, and how many times it's been covered up before, all influence how quickly you'll notice changes during removal. Using the UNDO method can cut down removal treatments needed by 50-80% compared to alternatives like LASER. You might even see some fading after just one UNDO treatment.
-
How does it work? The deracination serum contains natural ingredients like bentonite, aloe leaf extract, and hydrolyzed sodium hyaluronate. This serum is made to awaken the ink in your skin and bring it to the surface. It also moisturizes your skin from below and boosts elasticity, helping it heal better and with less scarring.
-
What is in the treatment masks? The Lifting Clay mask has a unique composition and can act as a magnet that attracts negatively charged toxins as well as any additional ink brought to the surface during the Deracination process. People have been using calcium bentonite clay for centuries as a way to detoxify the body and improve skin tone. The Healing Microcurrent masks include Tissue X® technology which is the world’s first TDDS (Transdermal Drug Delivery System) which conveniently delivers the benefits of iontophoresis treatments to the skin, as used by many dermatologists. Using Tissue X® technology our healing microcurrent masks deliver the active ingredients and macromolecule healing compounds, such as hyaluronic acid, peptides and vitamins into deeper layers of the skin.
-
How many treatments are required?Several things affect this: how deep the ink is, the type used, how old the tattoo is, and if it's been touched up. Small tattoos might need just 2-3 sessions. UNDO can lighten or remove any color, but LASER only works well on certain colors.

UNDO Aftercare1. Keep the area clean and open to the air. Do not cover with a Band-Aid or anything else, leave it open to air. Air/oxygen provides good and faster healing. You should not be touching the area at all but if you find yourself needing to please make sure your hands are exceptionally clean. 2. Clean the area by blotting with saline or sterile wipes 3 times a day on the day of the service. (Do not ice area) 3. Starting the night of the service and for the next 10 days, you will be washing the area with a gentle cleanser such as Cetaphil, Dial or Dove using only your fingertips and lukewarm water. You will proceed to gently pat dry with a paper towel AND you will apply a thin layer of the Colloidal Silver Gel with a clean Q-tip 3 times a day. 4. Continue blotting the area with a clean paper towel or gauze 3 to 4 times a day as needed to help keep the area dry. 5. Do not soak or wet the treated area in water. You can shower as normal but keep the area out of the shower spray the best you can and do not let the area stay wet for more than a few minutes. It is best to keep it dry but if you do get it wet gently pat dry. 5. NO SWEATING, HOT SHOWERS, BATHING, SWIMMING, SAUNAS, HOT TUBS, TANNING, OR EXERCISE. NO EXCEPTIONS FOR AT LEAST 7 DAYS. - These can all introduce bacteria, cause infection and or disrupt the process. 6. Do not disrupt the scabbing process (i.e. no picking, scratching, etc.) All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring. It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results. 7. Treat the area with TLC and keep it clean and dry at all times. 8. Do not wear any makeup, other creams/ointments until all scabs have fallen off. And do not use retinol, fillers, Botox on or around the area for at least 3 weeks. 9. Once all scabbing has naturally fallen off, continue applying the aftercare gel 3 to 4 times a day (throughout the day) for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until the next lightening session. 10. After the healing is complete it is imperative to apply an SPF of 30 or higher containing zinc to protect the area “after” all scabbing has flaked off.
-
How to Prepare for your Appointment* Do not tan or have a sunburn near the treated area. * Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Fish Oil or Ibuprofen 24 hours before procedure. * No alcohol 24 hours before procedure.
-
How soon after my surgery can I get this service done?Typically as early as 6 months post your surgery, or as soon as your Doctor releases you. Please seek the advice of your Doctor or Surgeon and obtain a letter from your Dr. clearing you for this procedure (Areola Restorative Tattoo). We will require this at least 3 days prior to your appointment.
-
Is it painful? In most cases, getting a 3D nipple and areola tattoo is a pain-free process since the breasts are likely to be numb following surgery; However, that is not always the case, and pain tolerance is relative to each individual. Although we do not pre-numb secondary numbing agent is used during the process if needed.
-
Will the procedure be performed in a clean, sterile, professional environment? Most Definitely. We offer a clean, sterile environment and use disposable needles and equipment. Treatment is performed in a private room.
-
Are you licensed?Yes, our artists are up to date on the required Bloodborne Pathogens certification and hold a Tattoo Artist License with the Dept. of Health.
-
Will my Insurance cover this service? Some insurance companies do cover this as part of the reconstruction services, however, we do not deal with insurance companies. You are encouraged to call your insurance beforehand and ask if you are eligible for reimbursement. Our services will need to be paid upfront and we will provide you with a receipt but it will be your responsibility to submit a claim and follow up with your insurance.
-
Can you do my 3D Areola Tattoo if I got one done with someone else?We will likely be able to correct/touch up your previous areola work but will need to see a picture of it in advance to determine the best plan of action.
-
What to expect the day of my appointment? At your appointment, we will review the tattooing process with you, and answer any questions you may have. Discuss size, placement, and nipple style, and select colors that are suitable for your skin tone and desired look. Appointments take 1 – 3 hours, depending on the type of tattoo(s) you have done. For a unilateral mastectomy, the natural areola is matched as best as possible in appearance, placement, and color. For a bilateral mastectomy, placement, shape, and size are discussed and drawn on to compliment the breasts and create balance and symmetry. Once the design prep is complete, you lay comfortably on the bed, and the process will begin, taking approximately 30-50 minutes per nipple. You will go home with an Aftercare kit which will include written instructions on how to care for your new tattoo properly. You will need a follow-up appointment after 7-10 weeks. During this appointment, we can adjust color, shape, and details.
-
Are you trained for this specific service?Absolutely. Our artists currently hold multiple certifications for Scar Camouflage Tattoos and have trained specifically for 3D Areola Restorative Tattoos with Master Technician, International trainer, Speaker, and judge Sherah Juarez at Ink Boutique Houston. Sherah has traveled globally to train with some of the world's finest Master Instructors and has tattooed over 15,000 areolas. You can rest assured our artists have been trained by the best.
-
Who is not a candidate?Have a history of infection to your breast area Have overly thinned breast skin due to your mastectomy (Have your plastic surgeon determine this for you) Have lymphedema of the chest Had radiation that caused damage to your skin Again, we will require a Clearance Letter from your Surgeon to ensure you are indeed a candidate for this procedure. If you are currently taking Antibiotics
-
What is the difference between getting my areola and nipple tattoo done by you and getting it done at my Doctor’s office? Many Doctor’s offices do perform areola tattoos; however, there is a difference between a traditional tattoo and a “3D” Areola and Nipple tattoo. Not everyone is skilled in this particular style of tattoo and it can make all of the difference in the world when it comes to your areolas looking real or not. You have been through enough trauma and have spent enough time in hospital environments. It is time to treat yourself to the best experience even if that means your insurance will not cover the costs.
-
Is it safe?Yes, areola/nipple tattooing is safe. However, the tattoo process is much less invasive and therefore less risky than surgical reconstructive procedures. The greatest risk is infection or scarring, which can be avoided with proper care of the area. There’s also the rare risk of an allergic reaction to the pigment. Although the procedure is considered very safe, Mastectomy and Top surgery patients should always check with their doctor first, to make sure they are fully healed.

This is normal it will all subside over the next week. Note that the final color will be lighter once fully healed. During the healing process you may experience dryness, scabbing, and some flakiness. Please do not pick or scratch or pick your scabs as you may compromise the healing or integrity of your skin.
