Fine Line Tattoo FAQs

Delicate art. Meaningful stories

"Write them on the tablet of your heart." — Proverbs 3:3

Service Guide & Aftercare Instructions

What is a Fine Line Tattoo?

This is a traditional tattoo with Tattoo ink that is made to stay in the skin and not fade.  Fine line tattoos are more delicate line designs with limited shading.

What kind of Fine Line Tattoo designs do you offer?

Our fine line tattoos are crafted for those who want to carry something beautiful and meaningful on their skin — whether that is faith-inspired Scripture and symbols close to your heart, or delicate florals and nature-inspired designs that speak to your story. Every piece is intentional, custom-created, and made with artistry at the forefront.

The Basics

What is the minimum age requirement?

You must be 18 years of age or older with valid government-issued photo ID. We do not offer tattooing to minors, even with parental consent.

Who is this service for?

This service is for anyone who wants beautiful, intentional fine line art. We specialise in faith-inspired designs — crosses, Scripture, doves, and Christian symbols — as well as delicate florals, botanicals, and nature-inspired pieces. All are welcome.

Who should avoid this service?

We recommend against tattooing if you are pregnant or nursing, on blood thinners, have active skin conditions at the tattoo site, or have a compromised immune system. Please consult your physician when in doubt.

Can I request a specific design?

Absolutely. Whether it's a meaningful Scripture verse, a Christian symbol, or a floral design, share your vision during your consultation and your custom piece will be created before your appointment.

Your appointment

What happens at the appointment?

You will review your pre-made custom design, confirm the size and placement, and give final approval before the session begins. No work proceeds without your complete satisfaction.

Can I request changes to the design?

Minor adjustments can be made at your appointment. Significant redesigns may require rescheduling. We want you to love it completely before we begin.

How long does the session take?

Most fine line pieces take between 1–3 hours depending on size and detail. Smaller pieces may take as little as 30 minutes. Timing will be confirmed during your consultation.

Will I need a touch-up?

A touch-up at 6–8 weeks post-healing is often recommended to refresh delicate lines and keep your design crisp and beautiful for years to come.

Pre-care instructions — Prepare for your session

  • 01 : Stay well hydrated. Drink plenty of water in the 24–48 hours before your appointment. Hydrated skin takes ink more evenly and keeps you comfortable throughout.

  • 02: Moisturise the area. Apply an unscented lotion to the tattoo site daily in the week before your session. Soft, supple skin holds fine line detail beautifully.

  • 03 : Avoid sun exposure. Keep the area out of direct sun and away from tanning beds for at least 2 weeks prior. Sunburned or heavily tanned skin cannot be safely tattooed.

  • 04: Eat a full meal. Have a proper meal 1–2 hours before your appointment to stabilise blood sugar and reduce the risk of lightheadedness during your session.

  • 05: Avoid alcohol & blood thinners. Refrain from alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment. Avoid aspirin and ibuprofen unless medically necessary.

  • 06: Arrive clean. Gently cleanse the area on the day of your session. Avoid applying lotions, perfumes, or deodorant directly on or around the tattoo site before arriving.

Aftercare instructions — protect your art

  • 01: Keep it covered. Leave the protective wrap on for 2–4 hours (or up to 24 hours if using a second-skin film). Do not remove it early.

  • 02: Gently cleanse twice daily. For the first 2–3 weeks, wash the tattoo with a fragrance-free antibacterial soap and lukewarm water morning and night. Pat dry with a clean paper towel — never rub.

  • 03: Moisturise lightly. Apply a thin layer of unscented lotion or tattoo-specific balm 2–3 times daily for the first 2–3 weeks. Less is more — over-moisturising can draw ink from the skin.

  • 04: Do not pick or scratch. Peeling and itching typically begin around days 3–7 and are a normal part of healing. Allow flaking to fall away naturally — picking can permanently damage your design.

  • 05: Expect surface healing by weeks 2–3. Your tattoo may appear dull or slightly faded during this time — this is completely normal. Full skin healing takes 4–6 weeks.

  • 06: Apply SPF once fully healed. After 4–6 weeks, protect your tattoo with SPF 30+ sunscreen whenever exposed to the sun. UV rays are the leading cause of fading over time.
