Eyeliner & Lash Enhancement Pre-care & Aftercare Guide

PRE-CARE (Before Your Appointment)

Follow these steps for the best pigment retention and to reduce risk of complications:

  • Avoid Blood Thinners: No alcohol, aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, or vitamin E for 24–48 hours before the procedure (unless prescribed by a doctor).

  • Skip Caffeine: Avoid coffee or energy drinks on the day of the procedure to reduce sensitivity and bleeding.

  • Stop Lash Serums & Retinoids: Discontinue lash growth serums, retinol, and chemical exfoliants near the eye area at least 2 weeks before treatment.

  • No Recent Eye Procedures: Wait at least 4–6 weeks after lash lifts, lash extensions removal, Botox, or filler in the area.

  • Healthy Skin: Reschedule if you have active infections, styes, cold sores (for lip blush), or any skin irritation near the treatment area.

What to Expect During Healing:

Day 1: The treated area may look darker/brighter than expected and feel tender or swollen. This is normal.

Days 2–4: Swelling subsides. The pigment will still look dark.

Days 3–7: Scabbing and flaking begin. The pigment will appear patchy and lighter — do not pick!

Days 7–14: Color continues to soften and settle as the skin regenerates.

4 Weeks: The final healed color is visible. A touch-up session (if scheduled) will perfect the results.

AFTERCARE – EYELINER & EYEBROWS

Immediate Care (Day 1):

Gently wipe with sterile water pads one hour after procedure, again in 2 hours, and once more before bed.

To minimize eyelid swelling:

Fill a clean rubber glove with cold water, tie it shut, and dry it. Place a clean napkin over your eyes, then place the cold glove on top for up to 10 minutes. Repeat later if needed. (Do NOT use ice packs directly on skin.)

Days 2–10:

Dry Healing: Wash your face normally but keep the treated area dry and product-free.

If feeling tight or itchy, apply a very thin layer of the ointment provided, starting on Day 2 — do not over-apply.

Avoid:

  • Makeup, eyelash extensions, or lash growth serums on/near the treated area until fully healed.

  • Hot steam, saunas, pools, intense sweating, or direct sun exposure for 10–14 days.

  • Picking or scratching — this can cause scarring and pigment loss.

GENERAL POST-CARE DON'TS

❌ Do Not Pick, Peel, or Scratch scabs — let them fall off naturally

❌ No Greasy Ointments — they can suffocate the skin and pull out pigment

❌ Avoid Chemical Treatments — facials, Botox, peels, microdermabrasion until healed

❌ No Excess Water Exposure — limit rinsing to <3 minutes in first 2–3 days

❌ Avoid Sweat-Inducing Exercise for at least 5–7 days

❌ No Makeup on Treated Area until fully healed, at least 3 weeks

❌ We recommend waiting a minimum of 3–4 weeks after your appointment before applying eyelash extensions

❌ Avoid Alcohol & Smoking — they slow healing and can affect pigment retention

LONG-TERM CARE (Once Healed)

  • Always wear sunscreen (SPF 30+) on treated areas to prevent premature fading.

  • Avoid harsh exfoliants or retinoids directly on the tattooed area to prolong pigment life.

  • Annual touch-ups are recommended to keep results looking fresh.
