3D AREOLA TATTOO PRE-CARE &

AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS

PRE-CARE

PREPARING FOR YOUR TREATMENT:

  • First and most importantly make sure your skin is not tanned as we need to be able to achieve the accurate skin tone (Your natural skin tone) - If you are tanned at the time of the treatment then your scars / stretch marks will end up looking darker than the rest of your skin once your tan goes away.

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine 24 hrs prior to appointment

  • No aspirin, ibuprofen 2 days prior

  • No tanning, self tanners or spray tans at least 4 weeks prior

  • Drink plenty of water and come hydrated

  • Do not wear serums, toners, creams or other products the morning of your procedure

  • Please shower and gently exfoliate the area(s) to be treated the morning of your procedure.

AFTERCARE

Do NOT submerge in the pool, jacuzzi, ocean, hot tub, etc. for at least 14 days & Do NOT workout or sweat for at least 7 days post procedure

  • Shower with the Tegaderm on for 5 days. Fluid may build up underneath your dressing. This is Normal.

  • On day 6, remove Tegaderm tape in the shower and gently wash with a gentle soap using only your fingertips. (use Dial, Cetaphil, or Dove)

  • After the shower, gently pat dry the area and let it air dry for 1 hour

  • After drying, send pictures to your artist via text:  Priscilla (949)822-5224 - Elaine (951)394-7676.

  • Apply a thin layer of A&D or Aquaphor twice daily for two weeks to aid the healing. Do not use neosporin or other products.

INSTRUCTIONS WITHOUT TEGADERM TAPE

  • The day of your procedure (day 1), you will go home with a non-stick pad or gauze on. Please wear that until the next day.  You will also go home with an aftercare package with extra gauze and ointment.

  • On day 2 (the next day), gently wash the areolas with lukewarm water and a gentle soap using your fingertips only  (dial, dove, or Cetaphil)

  • Pat dry the areolas with a clean paper towel or Kleenex (do not use a towel as these may hold bacteria), then  apply a thin layer of Aquaphor with clean hands and apply new sterile gauze to each side

  • Continue the same process and once you run our of non stick sterile gauzes just apply aquaphor twice a day for the next two weeks.

  • On Day 6 please text a picture with your full name to your artist Priscilla at (949) 424-2104 or Elaine at (951) 394-7676 in order to track healing and progress.

WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT

If you start developing a red rash around the tape, it most likely means you are allergic to the Tegaderm tape. Call the studio or text us so that we can give you further instructions 949-822-5224.

If at any time during the healing process you experience a fever, increased pain on or around the treated area, warmth at or around the treated area or a thick drainage (other than clear thin plasma) please get in touch with your healthcare provider and let us know immediately.

The area(s) treated will be bright red, swollen, and perhaps even a little tender to the touch. This is normal it will all subside over the next week. Note that the final color will be lighter once fully healed.

If you have pets at home please be extra mindful to keep your tattoos protected from pet hair as it carries a high risk of infection. Remember your tattoos should be cared for just like any other open wound.

During the healing process you may experience dryness, scabbing, and some flakiness. Please do not pick or scratch or pick your scabs as you may compromise the healing or integrity of your skin.

Camouflage tattoo is NOT a one-and-done procedure. It can take up to 4 sessions to obtain the desired results. The tattoo is permanent but may fade over time, like all tattoos so you may need a touch-up in a few years.
